These are battery operated self synchronising high intensity
hazard warning lamps designed and manufactured to International
Standards. The SunFLASH is available in two types: with flash
rates of 60 and 120 flashes per minute. The SunFLASH is usually
offered with Uni-Directional lenses but can also be
Bi-Directional, with lens colour options of amber, lemon, red or
blue. SunFLASH is also available with the 'Synchro' self-synchronising
circuit included. The body is made from high impact polyethylene
type DSM Stamylam P55 M10 which fully complies with BS 3143:
Part 4: 1985.
The Linear Xenon discharge tube has a peak intensity greater
than 200,000 candelas. The electronic components are
manufactured using high grade components to ensure reliable
service in all conditions, the circuit being coated with a
clear, conformal shield. The SunFLASH is specially designed to
ensure low current consumption and good battery life. Each
circuit is fully 'soak' tested for 24 hours at a 40°C ambient
temperature.
Self Synchronisation: The 'Synchro' type lamp is fitted with a
module which senses the flash from an adjacent lamp. The self
synchronisation unit works automatically. When the lamps are
placed in a line, they give the impression of a single light
travelling from front to back. A separate control unit is not
required as each lamp individually synchronises with the
previous lamp in the series. Each lamp is identical and can be
placed in any position within the line of lamps. The SunFLASH
uses readily available zinc carbon batteries type PJ996/4R25,
although battery usage can be greatly reduced by the use of
Dorman Air Alkaline batteries. Two batteries are required per
lamp.
